The campus of Lord Nataraja the Cosmic Dancer's hometown, Chidambaram, home of one of the biggest residential universities in Southern Asia, Annamalai University, measures over 1000 acres. As well as 10 faculties, it has 49 academic departments.


Annamalai Chettiar established Sri Minakshi College, Sri Minakshi Tamil College, and Sri Minakshi Sanskrit College in a rural region adjacent to Chidambaram in the early 1920s to aid the needy. Rajah Sir S. R. M. Annamalai Chettiar and the local government reached an agreement in 1928 to transfer to the aforementioned institution in order to start a university. By making an account on the official website, students can apply for admission to university courses. They can then send their entire applications, the required payments, and any required attachments. The steps for candidates Annamalai University Admission Process are as follows:

Annamalai University Admission Criteria 

  • The selection of students for all undergraduate and diploma programs, with the exception of B.Pharm and B.Tech, is based on their performance in intermediate (10+2) exams. Following the admission exam, PGs interview applicants for the B.Tech. and B.Pharm. programs.


  • For example, graduate-level marks are used to decide admission to the MA, M.Sc., and M.Com programs. The selection process varies based on the subject.


  • A physical fitness exam and an interview with the applicant make up the M.P.Ed. application process.


  • An interview comes after a selection process based on merit for the M.Ed. program.


  • Based on candidates' qualifying degree merit scores, performance on the admission exam, and the results of in-person interviews, admission decisions for the MBA, M.Tech, M.Pharm, and M.CA programs are made.

Annamalai University Placement Drives 

The department of training and placement at Annamalai University hosts recruitment events. Students who are enrolled in their last semester may participate in the Annamalai University recruitment drive. Prior to the recruitment campaign, the university also holds practice interviews and offers soft skills training. In placement drives, more than 80% of eligible students participate, and between 50% and 75% of those students are hired by reputable companies with alluring remuneration packages. The minimum income at Annamalai University is INR 2-3 LPA, while the maximum compensation is INR 10-15 LPA.

Annamalai University Scholarships Opportunities 

First Graduate Tuition Fee Concession: Certificate obtained from the Deputy Tahsildar at HeadQuarters in the format specified in the G.O. (electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate only will be accepted), which must include the names of the applicant's parent(s), brother(s), sister(s), father(s), mother(s), mother's mother, brother's father, and sister's mother, and a joint declaration by the applicant


Post-Matric Scholarship: The government offers post-matric scholarships to SC, SCA, and ST applicants with household incomes of less than Rs. 2,50,000 annually, as well as to SC, SCA converted Christians with family incomes of less than Rs. 2,00,000 annually from all sources. An official copy of the student's income certificate must be submitted to Annamalai University.


Hostal Education Special Scholarship: Students living in hostels who have converted to the SC, SCA, ST, or a Christian sect are eligible for the Hostal Education Special Scholarship. The total annual income from all sources must be greater than Rs 2,00,000 in order to be eligible for the Annamalai University Scholarship.
